Sky News political correspondent Liz Bates will join the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) as a media special adviser, according to POLITICO’s London Playbook.
Bates will start her new role later this month, replacing Jamie Williams following his move to the Home Office.
MHCLG is gaining an experienced media operator in Bates. She joined Sky News in 2022, having previously been a lobby journalist for PoliticsHome, the Yorkshire Post and Channel 4.
